Today in SCIENCE we:

• Handed in our Planet Earth Title Pages.
• Talked about the STRUCTURE or MODEL of the Earth.
• How many layers does the Earth have? What are they called? What are some characteristics of them?
• Did p356 #3 - to SCALE. Do you remember how we did it? Hint: 1cm=1000km & you have to add the thicknesses of the layers together as you work your way out from the centre.
• Read from the "blue book" about PLATES, PLATE TECTONICS, & EARTHQUAKES.
• What causes an Earthquake?
• Read p358-359 - more specific information about Earthquakes. What is a FOCUS? An EPICENTRE? SEISMIC WAVE?
• Homework: p362 #1, 2, & 3, Due FRIDAY.
