• Talked about Earth Day & watched two short video clips. What do you think?
• Reviewed our question from yesterday. Do you understand STATES of MATTER? The PARTICLE THEORY OF MATTER?
• What happened with the ball and the ring when we heated the ball? Why?
• Talked about Heat Energy, talked about Temperature. Read p199, 3 points at the top, what are they? What do they mean?
• Homework: p200 questions #1-3. Due MONDAY.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Edited our short stories & did a good copy in our Journal. If you were not done, you took your Journal home to finish.
• Had a homework check on p185 - give it a try.
• Talked about HEAT ENERGY, KINETIC ENERGY, STATES OF MATTER, & the PARTICLE THEORY OF MATTER. We used water as an example.
• What happens to the particles of water when we add heat?
• Did a couple of smartboard activities to help us visualize particles.
• Homework: Read pages 194 & 196. Do question #3 on page 197.

• Short Stories (p182): First Draft was due today. Did you have it done? It needs to be complete by TOMORROW.
• Homework: sia7 p185 give it a try: need or want? Due tomorrow.

• Started our Short Stories - No More Heat (p182 - give it a try) your outline (ideas) and first (rough) draft are due TOMORROW. You had class time for this, did you use it well?

• What do we mean by STANDARD of LIVING?
• We even reviewed a bit of Structures & Forces today. Do you remember how?
• Homework: p189 #2, 3, & 4. DUE MONDAY.

• Wrote a Journal Entry about Heat & Temperature: 1 paragraph (5 sentences). What do you think we will learn about in Heat & Temperature? You should have finished this in class & handed it in. You had LOTS of time. Did you include a proper title & the DATE?
• Did Vocabulary #22. REMINDER: this is 5% of your grade & you have LOTS of class time to do a good job.
